SUP Camp for Autism is more than just paddling on a board…
Kellie Maier with KelsKids, is not only great in the water, she is excellent with behavioral modification and ABA Therapy. When Connor became frustrated at camp and used an inappropriate word, she took a different approach.
First, she played soccer with him to teach him other ways to get his anger out, which worked wonders. Then she gave him options for replacement words.
He chose the word Fudge, which he liked better because he LOVES fudge and it makes him happy just saying it. That’s my boy.
